Revised business cards?

Here are the two revised cards based on your amazing and super-fast feedback. (I love you all!)

I tried changing the color of the font/logo to black, red, grey... etc. Nothing worked better than white (which didn't work very well itself) so I though maybe I'd just take that info off the front since all of it except the blog address is listed on the back already... and there is a link to my blog on my website. Is that a bad idea? Should I try harder to find a type solution and keep that info on the front? Well, here is first series of revisions, I welcome ANY feedback you can give me! Let me know what you think of these relavive to the first set and to each other.

Hunt:

Specters:

Back:

I wish I could fit "jawcooper.blogspot.com" on the back but then I fear it might be a bit crowded and disorganized.

I adore the Hunt one. This totally is kicking my ass into not being lazy and getting my own cards made. you should so ship me one of these in a little change envelope with a stamp.

ya it works fine with out the text on the image it lets the viewer take in the illustration. As for the back if you really want to add jawcooper.blogspot.com you could make the red area a bit bigger to give you more room to play with or another idea you could switch mail order with JAWCOOPER.com

This is just a thought but for Hunt version i think the logo would work better and stronger if you moved it to the opposite conner of the card which would be the bottom left. The reason why I say that is because it's a very quiet space, there is not major going on in the image there. The spot were the logo is now is right on top of one of your characters which is something am not digging.

by the way Hunt is my favorite.

Genius! I'll definitely move the logo to the other corner on "hunt" and play around with how to fit the blog into the back.

I like the second one (spectors) better - you have a great usage of subtle color - and the second reflects that. I'd suggest moving the logo to the top if you go with that one since there is less detail there (background/trees).

Also - to make the website more noticeable - why not put the URL on the front of the card UNDER the red line instead of inside? That way you could stretch it all the way across... Otherwise it kind of gets lost.

Nice work :D I like them.
I've thought that if the contrast of the logo on the hunt version isn't big enough, on can maybe put it on a black circle.

Andrew- Yes! Good call, I moved the logo on Specters as per your suggestion and it's far better. As for the type that's a really good idea and it would certainly be easier to read and less cluttered/distracting, I'm just nervous about putting anything outside of the "safe zone" in case it gets trimmed or cropped.

CG- Totally! The black circle looked a bit imposing so I just dirtied up the area behind the logo with a diffused brown texture and I think it's far more readable now. Thanks for the advise!

YOU ALL ROCK.

Where are you getting these printed? The bulk people like 4over.com are going to need a much larger area for trim because...well...they don't really care how your print job comes out. That may become a problem since you actually have horizontal and vertical lines on your card near the edges - if they cut it sloppy your lines won't look level. If you also want color consistency you should avoid places like that.

If you're going to a higher quality place they can be more precise and give you a larger live area to play with - and if they are nearby they can bring you a physical proof. You shouldn't need more than an eighth of an inch from trim, but it depends who you go with.

Anyway, cards are looking good - glad I could help!
