As usual the camera washes out a lot of the subtler detail and the colors are off, but you get the idea. I think there will be at least one more in this tarnished dolls series. So far there is porcelain and wood, I'm thinking the last one could be made out of metal, or plants... or maybe cloth with pins stuck in it, I could call it "Puncture". Ooooo, I'm liking that direction. Suggestions?

omg! I'm loving the wooden textures!
swoon! This NEEDS to be mine!
Look at this. I love the wood texture too!
Gorgeous! as for suggestions... thats tough, I like material with pins, kind of a voodoo effect ^_^
I'm loving the paint. Did you paint the whole thing in acrylic?
I'm someone who's obsessed with wood. I have large pieces of tree trunk and branches even inside my house. And I've raised numerous wild birds from eggs, or small babies. So this is one of my favorite paintings you've posted.
Thank you everyone!
M- These are gouache/ ink-wash/ colorase, but I'm sure you could achieve a similar effect with acrylic washes.
AG- That is so cool! I once found an abandoned baby hummingbird and had to take care of it for a couple of days and it was HARD work! So many feedings! I applaud your dedication to the avian community.
this looks pretty awesome, I like the veining.
Great artwork. Really enjoyed your drawings and illustrations.

always so beautiful :)
btw didnt get a chance to say hi when you stopped by school!
so HIII!! :D
lovely, just lovely. it might be the pic but i almost want to see the wood get a bit more darker in some places. my favorite parts are in the closeups where can see how the ink stays to the edge of the lines in the wood texture. its just so...woody. where's this guy goin?
maybe one drawn like Jade, with chips and cracks, somewhat translucent.... do love the wood too. Really any textures you do are great....maybe a steam punk chic, all rusty and rivety.
Hey J
Can you describe your process?
Sure thing Anthony, I made a post about my process a while ago, here is the link:
